By the time one clicks on this, you might be wondering something similar to "Wot are you doing m8, why am I seeing a post from you on this section on le forums. F6". You best get a drink and some snacks for this one lol.
Now to backtrack a bit to around early August 2012. Kalyb and I (plus Erik and a few others) were on a server called Oldstory. Inb4 "Dafaq was Oldstory m8", well it was a 1/1/1 v55 server. Definitely toward to the more hardcore group, anyways long story somewhat short, the owner there decided to shut it down out of the blue. Fast forward to 3 days later and Noblestory was born. It was originally made for us to have somewhere to continue playing on when Chao shut down Oldstory. We went with v62 only because of windowed mode lol (before I even knew of dxwnd. F3). Things were dandy (minus one incident with LPQ that I missed and still not sure what exactly happened) up until one of our friends decided to hack. Long story somewhat short, 2 weeks of chaos which he bypassed every sort of ban we tried on him. Then a DDoS attack that never went away (Erik stopped payments on the VPS by then) and we lost everything by late Dec. 2012. Early Jan. 2013 and we're back with Noble v2. Things were pretty alright for the most part at the beginning, but there were only a few of us original members left mainly due to not having contact with most of the others. Then around late March, a familiar face comes around by the name of Nina (yes, it's that Nina btw). By around this time, we were having major hacker issues (over 85% of every new character that logged in would hack straight away) and also we had noticed that there were some pretty bad un-balancement issues. So a wipe was done after those were fixed and started back up in June 2013. This part can be considered Noble v2.5, let's just say it was a dark time lmao. But for once I'll get into it, basically things were definitely far from okay. Horrible to put it that way, and it peaked around later that month when most of the community back then started hacking. Of course I banned them all and the reason they did was completely stupid to put it that way. At this time Kalyb's house got flooded from a storm and he was stuck in a tent for 3 weeks, and he tried to do some small fixes in the meantime and do more major ones when he was fully back. The others didn't understand this and raged when he posted the first updates on the fixes he did. I can definitely say that was the only time I've been around a small community that was actually not so great lol. Anyways, fast forward to late July, Noble v3 arises under new rates. Kalyb only planned for it to be either 1x with 2x cards, or 2x without them. Well somehow both happened as 2x with 2x cards, GG on that. At least half of you guys know this part, but things are pretty alright for the moment. Despite an incident in Nov. 2013, one around May of this year, and of course the most infamous incidents of all around late Aug. Only a couple of months ago actually, I won't get into that since I'm frankly tired of doing so by now. Someone else can tell you that part of the story.
So that's the very very very very (did I say very?) short version of the whole "The Story of Noble" that a few wanted me to do way back when but never got around to doing it, so at least here's that version of it. "Srsly m8, what is this thread for exactly" you might wonder by now lol. Well I've thought about this for quite awhile now, about when the time would come that I would no longer be around due to whatever reason it may be. Eventually it would be due to college that might potentially be happening for me in the near future, but that won't be the reason in this case. So basically as some may know I'm sometimes not all too well. Which was usually no big deal and didn't affect me doing Noble related things. At least up until around January, then it started to happen more often and become more problematic. That's about when I slid more into the shadows and Nina became the GM everyone would see around the most. Seemed like a good idea on paper lol, everyone loved her and she actually had skills to do stuff while mostly all I'm able to do is banhammer people. That would be one of the huge mistakes I've made, I should have been around and on top of things more often than what was actually donem and made sure things were alright and she was happy. Instead I basically let her do her own thing, which again seemed good since it looked like everyone loved what she was doing. Alot of things yes, some things not so much lol. Fast forward to May and that was when an incident with "F" (I won't say who it was, he's already had his 15 minutes of fame. F3) happened. It made things worse with the things I was dealing with mentally, that whole week or so was not fun at all lol. Even then, it pales in comparison to what happened a couple of months later. More on that in a moment, anyways that was when it stopped becoming fun and enjoyable at least to a 100% level. Now fast forward to late Aug., when things really blew up lol. Those couple of incidents plus some other things that have happened between then and now have pretty much wrecked me in a sense. If I were to think of the days of when I actually felt fine or above that, there wouldn't even be enough days to fill up a week. At this point now I'm well past the point of no longer enjoying and having fun with it lol, one can say that Maple is practically now ruined for me because of what has happened these last few months. Something that used to give me joy and helped escape (or more like distract) myself from the ongoing issues with myself is now doing the exactly opposite and actually amplifying them. So that leads to the main point in all of this.
So basically the time is near, yes we know what time is it by this point. No, it's not Adventure Time btw lol. What time is it exactly then? Well this is the part where I tell you that I shall be retiring from Mapling duties. One would file this under "personal/health issues" under normal cases, but not entirely so in this one. I'm no longer fit to be "the face of the crowd" so to speak and try to run things. 2012 me could for sure, and 2013 me would be alright at it. 2014 me on the otherhand, and as proven so, can not. "Shall I cri erytiem yet Mr. LmaoF3Slyr606?" lol, not yet. This won't happen immediately, but it will be soon-ish. There's still some things left to do, one thing is to make sure Ace's wz edits get released and everything from that is working on here just fine. Then there's both the Nov. and Dec. events to take care of, and perhaps to attempt Horntail at least once before I'm gone. Though my mage likely wouldn't stand a chance lol, my NL maybe so. There might be other things that I'll think of after this is posted, but those are the main ones. Oh, there is one more thing. So instead of going away just like that, I will personally pick out a successor so to speak. I will be watching you all closely between now and then and the one most worthy of taking my spot in this shall have it. How does one deem worthy? Well for a hint, you'll have to be pretty active and dedicated, also willing to help others when needed as best to your abilites as you can. The active part being a huge part of that hint, it won't be someone who's only around every now and then or so. F3 So yes, prepare for my stalking and observing. XD Inb4 "When's the big day m8", that part is next.
The big day, as they say, will be December 31st. Maybe sooner depending on what happens with me during around Christmas/New Year's Eve, but the 31st is the latest date for this. Will there be some sort of retirement party I'm not sure lol, I'll think more on that when we're nearer to that point. But yes, 3rd time's the charm eh? Inb4 "Wot", this isn't the first time this was considered. Though alas, this will be the final time as I'm actually going through it lol. There's no going back in this case. I suppose I'm to the part of making a huge list of names and writing down a thing or so, but that's quite cliche lol. So to sum it all up, I'll miss most of you all (why only most?, I'll get to that in a bit) when the time comes. This has certainly been the best experience of Maplestory I've ever had (and that goes back to May 2005, so it should mean something lol. F3). Despite the bad times here and there over the last 2 and a half years, at least most of it were good times. And those times shall be remembered and cherished forevermore. Again I thank most of you (inb4 what's with the most m8, in a sec) for making this quite the wonderful experience. Too many names to list out as mentioned before lol, so I summed it up into all of that. You people are awesome, I guarantee it.

So this part will be towards all of the hackers either I or some other have banned over time, ones that causes quite the amount of trouble and made things that much harder on us to deal with (Ex. Well well, I simply don't have much of anything to say to you bunch. The hackers I hadn't had much sympathy to begin with, but for the rest of you that fall into the other categories. Know that you'll likely never be forgiven for what has been done, whatever it may be. That is all.

F3 Ok so for this last bit (at least for now), there are a couple of people that don't either fit into that last part or completely into the first part of people to talk about and whatnot. These guys I've known for nearly 2 years at least or longer, and are a huge part as to why I've managed to stay around for so long. So without further ado.
Nina - You get to be first my dear Ninabot. Well I don't think there's much to say that I haven't already told you, so I'll get to the stuff that I haven't. I'm sorry that I wasn't a eh, good role model I suppose lol. I should have tried harder to make sure things were okay and you were enjoying with what you were doing, I did try at times but certainly not enough. Speaking of role models, I'm also sorry about the whole thing with "D" (you know by now guys, 15 mins. of fame, etc. etc.) as if I had bothered to go through the gmlog more often than I did (it is a very long list lol and I wasn't well over half the time, so I did multi. account and vote abusing instead. F3), then this would have been caught much sooner before it became as huge as it did. It is normally very sad to see someone that you look up to very highly and do what had been done here. Especially him being the reason you ever got into coding (amazing how fast you had picked it up, but I already told you that. XD), I really wouldn't doubt that you took this harder than the rest of us did as it has been shown. I wouldn't also expect you to ever come back as staff, but you did mention that you might come back as a player. That would be nice to see, and I'm sure everyone would love you back too at least in that aspect. They can see your friendly face again that rarely ever emotions. Anyways, you're one of the best people I've ever met, I'm glad to have known you during the time that you were around.
Louis - Glad to have seen you again in recent times, even if I was away from home for most of the time you were around lol. Jeez what a pr0 lol, you and Chantal were huge inspirations of me trying to get to the top of the ranks back on Oldstory with you two, Kalyb and Erik (I got to #10 by the time when Oldstory shut down, woop. F3). Shame that I couldn't get you to become #1 on here lol. F3 To everyone that's reading this, him and Chantal are both were the inspirations of me even attempting level 200. Took exactly one year to get that lol, 4 and a half months of that being from 125-200. I hope to see another level 200 again some day, and it better be you... though I likely already know the answer to that. F3 Hope to see you again one day wherever that may be.
DixiMan - Well looks like you'll be the only original member left that's at least somewhat active besides Kalyb lol. The times on Oldstory and on here were fun with you around, hopefully I can get you to do a Horntail run with me here soon. Erik - The only other person that is as questionably too nice as I am lol, we couldn't possibly thank you enough for hosting a VPS for us to play this on. And of course the SirPuffsAlot himself, Kalyb - Welp, what a journey this has been lmao. Who knew this would have lasted for this long, it went from just having us Oldstory guys somewhere to play since Chao shut down his server to what we have now. It's been a pleasure, thank heavens I bothered to fix my Skype on the last day on Oldstory lol. If I hadn't gotten to that and joined in that group chat Erik made on there, there's no telling what would have happened after that. Certainly very different things I'm sure, just wow. I won't completely delete the GM account off, if there's any dire emergencies at any time in 2015 I shall try to be around and help on that. Not sure how well that'll work since at some point I'll have college duties and other things. But at least I'll try lol. F3 Also with voting abuse checks and whatnot, I'm not sure if anyone else is willing to want to do that stuff haha. But anyways, thanks for everything m8, none of the experiences I had in GMS ever came close to this. I shall remember this 5evar.
