Hello all, I'm back on forums, still thinking about my proposal of adding more monster on certain maps, so I've reading some posts of you guys, and I can't understand somethings:
-Most of the viewers of my post told that adding more monsters on maps is going to take down the "nostalgic" feeling created by this server. -But now, reading some threads I can see that some people is asking for new maps like ULU CITY (2010 GMS Content), NEO CITY (2010), GOLDEN TEMPLE etc. I dont get it, that's not nostalgic maplestory for me, in that case I can suggest adding Cygnus Knights or even Arans (cygnus are from 2009 v73, arans too, v80)...
That's it. I saw that you want more quest-lines for high levels, and this new maps, because it's boring being high level, lacks of places for training, etc... And what about lower levels? I mean, Can I suggest adding Mushroom Kingdom? Kerning Square?
Well, nothing more to say now, anyone can explain me this? Thanks!
Happy mapling!
Edit: same goes to skill revamps

If you are looking for Cygnus, Aran, Mush kingdom, and kerning square I would suggest a v83 server.

Just the opposite, I'm not looking for that, but i cant understand how some people dont want more monsters because it doesnt fit with "nostalgic feeling" and they want older versions content.

That's a good question and I'll try to provide some insight to the discussion.
I think the general train of thinking is that lower level people already have an abundance of places to train at any given level, while on the other hand, the training spots seem to thin out around 110-120, and you're forced to grind in the same two or three places until 200. Ulu City, Temple of Time, and Leafre (particular Skelegons/Skelosauruses) are the only places to train from level 110-200, excluding the occasional boss run. By comparison, let's take level 45 or so: you could feasibly train on STDs, Herb Town, Omega Sector, Forest of Golem, Drakes, Zipangu, Korean Folk Town or El Nath, and still get passable experience, in addition to the possible PQs that you could be doing.
Personally, I'd been training in Ulu for awhile and kind of took it for granted--I didn't realize that it was eventually released on GMS in 2010. I love the general feel of that place though, and even though it's not nostalgic to me, it's enjoyable. And that's another thing which is hard to demarcate: the line between being new and enjoyable and nostalgic and enjoyable. While with Ulu City, I've never heard anyone say a bad word about it (and therefore making it generally accepted to be "enjoyable" to the community), I've heard mixed feelings on Cygnus Knights. So I'm sure that's another factor.
A third factor to consider is that the content which you raised, namely Cygnus and Arans, are a somewhat different case from Ulu City, Golden Temple, Neo City, Ninja Temple and the like. The latter category constitutes simple training grounds, whereas the former case constitutes the introduction of two completely new sets of classes. And arguably, these newer classes would change and shape the game and the dynamic of how it all plays out to a larger extent than new training places would. Not to mention the whole balancing aspect... So that's another reason why I think the staff here would be hesitant to introduce Arans or Cygnus Knights, but is fine with introducing Ulu and Ninja Temple.

Yup, everything that Erwin said is right on the mark.
The only other thing that I'd add, is that if you ask twenty different Maplers what their perfect version of Maple would look like, that you're going to get twenty different answers. So yeah, even if you see a request for this or that, it's just one person's opinion and doesn't necessarily reflect the wishes of anyone else.
Good question though!

So that's another reason why I think the staff here would be hesitant to introduce Arans or Cygnus Knights, but is fine with introducing Ulu and Ninja Temple. I'll try to address each point chronologically adding my opinions. For the most part I agree with what you are saying. After fourth job training does become a little dry in terms of training spots. Bosses are now more available and do-able for characters but that takes a party of players. As for me I like being able to switch training maps every so often, I get really bored with one map for hours and hours. I was a huge fan of the release of ToT and Ulu for that reason. Though my favorite part about ToT is the quests but that is another discussion, haha. There is a very fine line between what feels nostalgic and what people what accept in terms of server content. I think that these additions fall into two categories: Aesthetics edits and gameplay changes. It is generally accepted that everyone wants to look nice with new hair and eyes from higher versions. These do not effect how the the server is played but generally serve to improve quality of life. Second type deal with how the game is played and encompass skill changes, new maps, new jobs, etc. It only starts becoming a problem in my eyes when you cant tell what version you are playing anymore. I think the addition of the maps that we currently have is a great balance of new content that integrates well with a low-rate nostalgic server. Would I complain if the server decided to take a more vanilla approach? Probably not, but I don't mind the edits. Also looking at it from a competitive market standpoint, most other servers have some sort of wz edits. If we were to not supply those then that would put us at a disadvantage in our ability to attract players. There needs to be a reason for players to join noble and not another server. If we were to add Cygnus or Aran we might as well update the server to v75(cygnus) or v83(aran). We already have most of the v75 maps so there wouldnt be much of a point of adding a job in and remaining v62. That being said I know for a fact neither of those jobs would be added to the game.
