Woo! Okay,

So Vinni has worked very hard on a special event for "March" (will be rolling into April due to release date/ recent events).

We are pleased to announce the Raffle NPC! During the month of "March" (April too), you will be able to turn in Lucky Charms to Mike, who will be located in Henesys next to Maple Administrator for the length of this event. The Lucky Charms can be exchanged for a Raffle Ticket. There will be a limit of three Raffle Entries per day!

In addition, you may exchange a higher amount of Lucky Charms for a Lotto Ticket. More information for the Lotto Ticket will be available at a later time. For now, there will be a limit of ONE total submission into the Lotto for the entirety of this event. Players with multiple accounts will only be able to enter with one account, not both.

You will be able to read up and learn a lot more when you talk to Mike!

Nice.

Although I have to say that I like the raffle portion a lot more, I still wish we could get something better than simple NX equips for it; however, there are those out there who love to collect NX items, and more power to them. It's just not my thing. Some of those rewards are quite nifty, and I like how we're at least guaranteed something for every ticket.

I'm not sure if I like the lottery system, though--I hate lottery systems both in MMOs and in real life, as I've told Ace in the past--particularly because of the nature of "1 person wins and everyone else gets shafted." This is further exacerbated by the STEEP investment cost of 777 lucky charms, which is no easy feat, even for a bishop. By my estimation, it'd take ~a dozen hours of dedicated farming to work up 777 charms, and even then, there's no guarantee that you'd win anything. That to me is discouraging, and I'd never participate in something like that. But again, that's just my opinion and I'm sure there are probably those who will participate in it.

In order to balance the lotto you also have the chance of getting the lotto ticket each time you win an item in the raffle. March's theme is luck so we decided to implement both parts...raffle which guarantees something while also being a daily thing, and lotto, which is for one winner. Each player that so chooses to enter the lotto knows beforehand that nothing is guaranteed.

the lotto has more of a gamble effect, which also involves luck.

Not my thing, like Chaos Scrolls. And I'm sure others will enjoy it more than I do, so good for them.
