Thank you Yunniii for the banner What is the Scavenger Hunt?
The Noble-Story Scavenger Hunt is about raiding a certain Region of the Maple World. In other words, you have to defeat the indigenous Monsters of this area and collect a certain amount of their etc. item drops. Besides that, you might also be requested to prove your victory over a Boss Monster by capturing the defeat with a screenshot; or maybe you are assigned to explore hidden landscapes by completing a characteristic Jump-Quest of the corresponding Region. You will have the choice to pick one out of two difficulties: medium or intense. Once you completed all of the requested tasks, you are ready to redeem your rewards, based on the difficulty you pick. To do so, simply send a personal message on the forum to Spike, Will, Lalaloopsy and Ace and submit your Scavenger Hunt entry. Do not forget to include proof (if requested) and keep in mind that you have to hand in all of the demanded etc. items. The Scavenger Hunt will be updated on a monthly basis.
If you choose to take on the intense difficulty, you get the opportunity to win additional rewards by completing it within a certain time frame: Completition within 1 week after release: +5 extra reward entities Completition within 2 weeks after release: +3 extra reward entities Completition within 3 weeks after release: +1 extra reward entity Ruleset:- only one entry per person (submitting with more than one character or account will permanently ban you from the Event) - you may only participate for one difficulty: medium or intense- you may receive help for boss kills from other players; however, you will then have to provide an extra screenshot (besides the defeat one) which shows your character dealing at least 1 damage to the monster - any delayed entries are invalid

This month, the Noble-Story Scavenger Hunt will be experimenting with a new format.
Instead of just splitting it up into 2 difficulties, it will also differentiate between 2 areas. This will alter your options and procedure a little. In order to complete the medium mode, you have to complete the Hunt for one of the 2 different areas. The choice is up to you. You can still only complete the medium mode once, for one area. In order to complete the intense mode, you have to complete the Hunt for both areas.
You see, there isn't much of a difference, really. We feel that this format will allow the Event to be a little more flexible. Furthermore, it will open opportunities to implement higher level areas (e.g. Temple of Time, Minar Forest & Dragon Canyon), without leaving lower level players in the ropes. This way, they have the chance to complete at least the medium mode on their own, without having to ask others for assisstance or buy other players' service or leftover items.
Let us know your opinion about it. Is there anything else that you would like to see added or changed? Do you have any concerns regarding this format? Would you like to see a completely revamped format for the Scavenger Hunt? Any kind of constructive criticism is highly appreaciated.

A couple of friends and I were talking about MT-09 and how much of a PITA it will be to hunt down 20 oils. While it's certainly not outside of the realm of possibility, granted, I think collecting 20 MT-09 oils is perhaps too difficult, to put it one way. The scavenger hunt also has us collecting 20 Chief Gray Signs, which I think is reasonable for those monsters, given that they spawn on four different maps (Barnard Field, Kulan Field 4, Kulan Field 5, and Gray's Prairie), and the spawn rate seems to be somewhere around 15-20 minutes.
So I did a little bit of math: I believe that's 7 Grays (2 on each map, and 1 on Gray's Prairie), which spawn 15-20 minutes, on four channels. That's either 84 or 112 Chief Grays per hour. On the other hand, let's compare the amount of MT-09s per hour. From the looks of it, the spawn rate seems to be 45 minutes (correct me if I'm wrong please). And given that there's only one map with MT-09s, which spawns 3 MT-09s on four channels, that's a maximum of 16 per hour. Mathematically speaking what I did is multiple 3 (amount of MT) x 4 (channels), which gives the amount of spawn per 45 minutes, which I then multiplied by 4, which yields the amount of MTs per 3 hours: 48. Divided by 3, that's 16 per hour. So let's be strict here and assume that the spawn rate on Grays is 2 per 20 minutes; even then, that's 84 Chief Grays per hour compared to 16 MT-09s per hour. That's a little over five times as many Grays as there are MT-09s.
Given these short calculations, I think that the requirement of MT-09 oils and Chief Gray Signs is a little bit askew. Assuming that my calculations are correct (which hinges upon my estimate of the 45 minute spawn time for MT-09s), then Chief Gray Signs are effectively 5 times as easy to farm as MT-09 Oils. So I personally think it would be a nice idea to either raise the requirement of Chief Gray Signs, or decrease the amount of MT-09 Oils, in order to better balance out the equation. And of course, I think you can guess which option I'd be in favor of doing, if you do decide to change it at all. XD
Thanks in advance for reading this and considering, if you do.
[edit] Also, I was rereading your post about the "split difficulties" idea and I have to say I support it. I think it's a good idea. So thumbs up for that.
