Welcome to the NobleStory World Cup JQ Tournament!
This tournament will consist of 1v1 Jump Quest competitions between all players who have signed up.
There will be a preliminary stage to determine initial seeding, which also allows players to win some easy points. Simply participating in this round will earn you points (and wins will earn you more points), so do not fret if you are not a great Jump Quester. Everybody who participates is bound to win something!
After the seeding is determined, there will be a single elimination, knockout stage. All competitions will then be best 2/3 with players competing against other players based on their previously determined seeding. Given on how many players sign up, points will be given out accordingly based upon the round in which players finish. The further players get, the more points you will be able to earn.
Preliminary Stage Rules
In the preliminary round, all players will hopefully be able to complete a JQ match against every other player who has signed up. As long as both players agree to a map which they wish to use, it can be used. If players cannot agree on a map, a random number generator can be used to decide the JQ map. Remember that you can pick any map or any section of a map. This means that if players only want to, for example, complete part 2 of Kerning B3, they can choose to only use that part.
Unless requested, all JQers are free to schedule their matches on their own time. You can ask any GM online to warp you to your JQ map of choice, and to watch/moderate your match.
Due to some delay, sometimes it may appear that you finish before another player, when in fact you finish afterwards. This is why it is usually recommended that you have a GM or a 3rd-party watch your match so that they can tell you who finished first. If there is not a GM online, you are still free to complete your matches in JQ maps which do not need a warp, and the result will still be counted as long as both players competing agree on the result.
Some basic guidelines to follow would be to not use chalkboards/chat/summoning bags to negatively affect the map in some way and make it more difficult. These are courtesy rules, since in the end, it's about having fun
Additionally, if it is agreed upon, you are allowed to have more than 2 players completing a JQ at the same time (if you wish to finish your matches with multiple players at the same time).
While it is always our goal to try and get every match finished, there are obviously instances when players will quit or become inactive in the middle of something like this. If it happens and you still need to finish matches against a player, at the end of the prelims, I will usually give wins to players who are more active and/or have completed more matches.
If you have any questions feel free to ask! The more in-depth knockout stage rules will be added when we get to that point.
