What are the things that you like about on here? This is the Maplestory I've played when I was younger (damnit) and literally what makes the nostalgia nostalgic. Nothing more to say about Noblestory but that is what I believe everyone is here for. You don't go to a hotdog stand and order a pizza.
What are the things that you don't like about on here? Pretty much the same response as everyone else, there really is a lack of players as compared to other servers. Lag-wise, I have only encountered two issues where the server went unresponsive because I relied too much on auto-hp, and when I tried again spamming pots on my own but the lag still killed me. Both in zak jq (Because I suck)
What would you like to see changed if anything? Honestly, no. If any changes were to happen, I would just adapt accordingly, whether I like it or not. If the change is so imminent that I have to quit or stop playing for awhile, then so be it. But I doubt such a change will shock me anyway. I like the current direction that Noblestory is heading towards. You forge closer ties to characters in Noble than other servers. Even with the GMs: in other servers there would probably be 420 people stalking them or screaming for help on smegas and that isn't something that the GMs here want to handle. The amount of time needed to put in is not too much that the GMs have to be here 24/7, but not too little that they don't have to do a single thing without the players noticing (e.g. events every weekend)
What would you like to see added on here if anything? I'll take whatever I get. If I've learnt one thing it's this:

Hi my name is Michael other known as Sozzy What i like it's the game itself basicly What i don't like its some bugs like how i fall into the water and cannot get back out of how my noble always disconnect when i go to cash shop for too long more or less stuff like that What i want to see changed it's probably be to make events more common and get the bugs fixed up I don't really have anything i wanted to add since the private server is the first Maple i played so i know noting about Noble in general. And i want to Apologise to to my Guildies since i don't look at the chat much or even understand anything they even say half the time so Sorry By Sozzy

Falling into the water? ._. How in the heck, lol. I'll need to see that or try to replicate it when I get the chance to.
I'm a bit confused on the events part, events are every weekend and there's also the monthly events so they're pretty common. Unless you're having something else in mind, which we'd love to hear about.

Well I've been here for a little while, but after a bit of time to reflect, I guess it's time for me to make my first serious post. -What are the things you like about on here? First, let me just say that this server is amazing. I do not regret any of my time spent here, nor the people I've met during my time here so far. It's for all intents and purposes the game I played when I was younger, though with much less grind. More important, however, is the community. For me, it doesn't feel as though it's a dead server but the community is still small enough, and you really get to know everybody and see them as people, rather than just pixels on a screen. The staff are for the most part extremely helpful and prompt to respond when I have problems with glitches in the game or anything of that nature. -What are the things you don't like about on here? This ties in to my feelings about the community. Though I have only been here for a few short months now, I feel as though there definitely isn't enough communication between the staff and regular members like myself, but this is a two way-street. Decisions that affect many players shouldn't be made without consulting them, but at the same time people have to voice their disagreement with changes rather than grumbling about them, while accepting them and moving on. When disagreeable changes are implemented, people kinda fail to voice their opinions where everyone will see it (on the forum), and this extends as well to seeing the motivations behind changes. A example, relevant to many players currently, is the change in the number of voodoos that spawn in Sophilia's Bedroom as well as the reduced drop rate of heartstoppers. The change in the spawn at least made the map somewhat viable as a training spot between 50-60, but I am more focused on the stoppers. Before the change, if I was bored I would go to the map to farm heartstoppers because I saw the advantage of spending time to farm them, rather than using the time to do other things. After the change, however, I no longer found it advantageous to do so simply because the number of stoppers I could get within an hour does not outweigh the benefit of instead, in the same hour, earning money and buying ciders instead. I feel that this change drastically altered my playstyle, and I admit that I felt blindsided that such a change could occur without anyone mentioning a thing about it. While I and many other of my fellow players were able to adapt to such a change without too much fuss, to have known about such a change beforehand would have helped immensely. -What would you like to see changed if anything? Even if we are not allowed to directly dispute staff decisions, a view into their decision-making and reasoning behind their choices, I feel, would go a long way toward soothing hard feelings. I would, however, like for the community to be able to petition for a redress of grievances and to have the ability to argue against staff choices, even if such petitions are ultimately unsuccessful in changing staff decisions. I respect the fact that this server has run without donations for the entirety of its existence, arguing very much that the server is for the players. Logically speaking, would it not follow that the players should have at least somewhat of a say in decisions that would affect them? -What would you like to see added on here if anything? You guys have a wonderful staff here and I have to say that the addition of Peter (Spike) is no different. He's active in his role, helpful, and generally a good guy. More of these please. Oh, and a way to reset BPQ runs manually or escape indoor pharmacies if you get stuck

I admit I've kinda given up a bit on trying to get people to talk to us, for whatever reasons being very few would actually do so very seldomly. Perfect example being those Heartstoppers and Maple Pops. The reason why their drop rate was so high was due to an accidental uh oh on a past GM's part when she had to re-do the entire drops table one day. Long story somewhat short, something happened and it changed everything to the drop chance of 1. Basically meaning that the item would drop every single time, thankfully with most drops a server restart is needed before it takes into effect. Those two items were never meant to drop at the same rate as regular potions do lol. The fact that it took a few months before someone told me about it further proves my point. Though then again, I can see why it wasn't reported until recently lol. You'd be surprised at how seldom we get told things, and alot of it is from me discovering about it months later (like Heartstoppers/Maple Pops). I have no idea why it's like this, people shouldn't be afraid of us or anything lol. Though I did tell you all that I would be fixing it roughly 6-8 hours before I actually did, so you guys were indeed informed about it. Also there's always the Discussion/Suggestions subforums for any of suggesting or bringing up any concerns, etc. It has been around for these last 2 and a half years for anyone to post on. But again, people don't want to seem to do so much at all for whatever reasons being. I have a dream. A dream that one day, this will change for the better. Lol, seriously though guys, we don't bite. Well probably except for Will, mainly because he's a bird. Yeah more good GMs such as the ones we have would be sweet. Even more so, hopefully one of these days we will come across a dev to help out, one that knows his/her stuff quite well and help Kalyb fix some of the most difficult things there is to fix. But that has been quite the struggle for a long time now, just nearly about everyone we've come across to doesn't fit our standards and qualifications. There's also the trust factor as well. We had one that actually was a pro at this coding stuff, though we couldn't ever get him to help on the said difficult stuff and didn't do much to begin with. There's also other things that I won't get into, but let's just say he turned out to be like the rest and also wrecked our trust completely. As if mine and Kalyb's aren't already damaged enough. XD Though there's at least one thing that he did right, and that was to show Nina (a past GM for those who don't know) the basics of coding and she just took off with it lol. By the time the incident happened with said dev which caused Nina to leave she got impressively good at it. One day we hope we can find someone like her to help out on the coding side of things. But until then we can only march on forward with what we have.

As a quote I use often in other servers too "People only report negative bugs" In other words, the heartstoppers and pops gave benefits to them and no one report such things. That's how the world works unfortunately. Also, same works for updates most of time. If there's no reply, people mostly is just fine with it. If there's suddenly a lot of (negative) response, than it pretty much means (a lot?) are against it.
Problem though is we had in past feedback about the new coming skill changes. However, Ace ended up saying "I should do updates before telling you guys so we don't hear complains before it actually happened" so that's why people gave up on feedback anyways.

Having to wait a couple weeks or so, to get permanent 4x EXP is pretty annoying / demotivating to train when you first join. Especially, when you want to get NX Equips, Hair / Eyes, Pets, etc.
I'm fine with how long it takes to get all of these things, and I know that it helps keep the server higher ranked on GTOP. Just, it makes you not want to train, because you could be training on 4x EXP, like everyone else. When most people first join, they usually want to train and blast their way up into the rankings. However, with how expensive 2x EXP Cards are, you have to wait a while before you can actually train as fast as all of the current players.
I don't think that someone would quit just because they don't have 4x EXP though, so I don't really think any change in this will be that significant. Maybe lowering the price of the 2x EXP Cards would help a bit, as only the new players need to buy them, and they usually want to buy other things like equips, cosmetics, etc.

Yeah I guess people know by now how stupid I think the x2 cards are. New people need to wait and older players can transfer them to new accounts. Basically, it only makes the server start up slower for new people.
I did offer in past for discounts and or removing the cards completely and make it permanent x4, but people (staff) went against it because it would look too much of the rates of that.. other server we all know. During summer I did offer a summer sale discount of them but didn't happened either.

There were originally 2 ways what we were going to do with the rates, either A: Add in x2 cards and keep it 1x. Or B: Change it to 2x if Kalyb couldn't fix the 2x cards. Apparently somehow both happened, lmao. Making it perma 4x wouldn't be nearly as much of a concern if that former near mid-rate server didn't have the same rates as we would now if this was done. Other than that it seems fine, and there's not much other solutions besides this one. Least those that don't require a wipe, and as stated before, there will never be another one ever again.

For Talos sake, though granted I do usually write walls of text, but how can "a bit" get completely missed is beyond me. "A bit" does not equal completely, 100%, or absolutely. And we've told you guys about the current wz edits as far as back September, and we've mentioned about the skill revamp that Ace is currently working under. Everything else has been fixes that got done months ago but got reverted when we added in the new wz xmls, I don't want to hear the "staff never tells us what gets fixed/changed" stuff when that's certainly not the case. Though the Heartstopper/Maple Pops part was done in a shorter notice and more quickly, which reminds me I never got around to checking the new rates out and making sure it was alright. It seems they're too low so I'll do some re-adjusting. On another note, I'll be going through the entire drops list and making sure nothing else is out of whack. I doubt there will be much, but can never be too careful. Just to let you all know beforehand, I don't know when I'll finish but I dare NOT hear anything about not being told about it from any of you afterwards when it's right here in plain text. If Ace had said that then that's a no no, that's the very thing that got done in the past and it's also the very thing we tend to get rid of from here on forward.

Alright so on the Heartstoppers and Maple Pops, I've tested the drops out on my test server and I now know what dropchance to set them to. So after the next server restart (later on today most likely) they will be fixed. The dropchances will be at 400, so about half of regular potions (200). This meaning that they will drop about half as often as regular potions will. So by then they won't be as stupidly rare as they are now, I never meant to make it that low lol. See, this wasn't so hard people. Now we're back on the road to Betterville.

Though I did tell you all that I would be fixing it roughly 6-8 hours before I actually did, so you guys were indeed informed about it. On the forum though? Perhaps there was somewhere I was supposed to check but didn't, and I only found out by going through my usual routine and finding results far less than what I'd normally expect. You can't expect everyone to be online at the same time for announcements like these.

Ok so due to an accidental typo and a ToT dropped an equip just a bit more often than the other equips did, I just restarted the server lol. Therefore the Heartstopper/Maple Pop drops are now fixed. Along with Qualm Monks with their Red Cravens.

I am starting to get seriously annoyed of what some players are accusing me for. Saying i should not mention about further upcoming game modifications does not necessarily mean i will do so. Brief backstory to this statement: I said this to end a conversation with other players about my plans for the upcoming Noble-Story skill balances, which escalated rather quickly. Ironically just because of the very same point which someone stated a few posts before mine. Players only want to see things being changed to their advantage. They do not care if it's not equally fair to everyone else, including their gaming comrades. They are slowly consumed by greed. I myself do not support such an arrogant behavior; just that was my original intention behind the idea to develop said modifications. During that one conversation, i mentioned that it is fairly hard, if not impossible, to develop a proper balancing between the different classes available in the game, and that i see no way around applying some negative changes (nerfs) along with the other, positive modifications. Didn't even take them a second to reply with massive, insulting, enraged flaming. I have been told that if i am going to release files which include nerfs to their character class, they would go ahead and leave the server, or avoiding them by not downloading the new files (which is a ban-able offense to our server rules, by the way). That coming from players who appear to be very horny for their upper spots in the rankings, playing currently superior classes - what a surprise. Though they seem to have forgotten to let me finish my argumentation, so they missed to hear about the positive aspects of my work for themselves. So i left this conversation which was going nowhere by using the statement from above.
I also recommend to stop trying to blame me for anything that broke along with the release of the latest .wz file update (e.g. not working portals). Not everyone here might be in the know, so i will explain it here one last time. I developed the current set of .wz files based on the previous Noble-Story files, which weren't the default game files anymore either. I had to work with the client-sided version of the files at first because i did not possess the server-sided set at that time. However, i have not been informed that there were also modifications for the previous server-sided files only, which lead to the few problems you might encounter. Previously fixed stuff on the server-sided files has been overwritten with the un-fixed client-sided version of it. This sounds worse than it actually is, as we can patch the fixes back onto the new files at anytime by using our backup files. All we need is you players to find the bugs and report them to us, so we can deal with them.
Back to that whole "communication issue" between players and Noble-Story staff members; you tend to see that very one-sided. You seem to expect us to offer you a game, which is accurately fitting to all of your prospects on the first try. As if that is not already difficult enough - if not impossible - how are we supposed to know what you want without you ever telling us your suggestions and concerns? I know that a few players here realize the forum as the way to speak to us, but there could be more of you following this example. Most of the time, all we get is the negative resonance when we happen to misfit one of your expectations. In my case, this leads to the .wz files. I have always been listening to our playerbase and tried to realize as many of their wishes for new game contents as i could. However, i am aware of the fact that it is impossible to please everyone. There will always be some who dislike, but on the other hand there are also those who appreciate our work. It's just lame to ask for new additions at first, and then backfire at us once it has been realized, telling us you never wanted that. If you do not want to see any kind of new contents, do not hesitate to say so. Just quit demanding for it in that case. You're wasting everyone's time by doing so. Let's not forget that we from Noble-Story give you the opportunity to play the game without asking for anything in return. Giving you this offer is all we can do. It's up to you whether you want to take it or not.
Thank you for your attention.

Will the skill balances include positive changes to buccaneer class? I wanted to make one but after getting speed infusion and other skills nerfed I hardly see the point. It's sad too cause its not like buccs are a very popular or overpowered class :<

I am still asking for bigger details on the skill balance, so did everyone. According to you the skills are not balanced for every job - some jobs have more DPS (Damage Per Second) then other. Hero for my case is very overpowered. But guess what? Its not overpowered because of the job, its overpowered because of my overpowered equips, which is faulty on Noble itself, not the game. MapleStory in my opinion had the skills balance to fit every job. Mages are SUPPORT jobs which are suppose to help the other. Bishops for example are amazing for their buffs and leeching skills, while warriors are more on solo path that can also boss.
From what I hear from you, you want make the DPS for every job the same... or I keep hear at least you want make the DPS the same for every job. Than what is the point of support classes? They are suppose to be weaker and help your partners be stronger. Its like in RPG games. You have STRONG classes and you have SUPPORT classes. That's the whole magic in MapleStory. You go with a party of 6 people. 2 or so are buffing, debuffing mobs, while the fighters are killing the bosses.
I am not being selfish here by saying "hue I Hero I want be best". Also, I heard nobody (neither in-game or forum) ask for a skill re-balance. Even Jayson who is apparently the worst for bossing asked for a skill balance (unless I didn't hear him say it), so who did?
And again, warriors has flaws too but they are unnoticeable because of my OP equips. On normal cases, Warriors need an incredible high DEX or Accuracy to even be able to hit anything, let go anything with proper damage. But because of Zak helms, perfect equips, lunch boxes, masks, rings, etc this negative thing about Warriors is out in NobleStory, causing them to look "OP". Don't let me even mention Maple weapons that give 37 accuracy. As of Warriors being able to tank way too much, this is fault of "HP washing" which in normal MapleStory costs real money to do it. So again, a thing only fault in Private Servers.
TL;DR: The jobs are not overpowered, the equips (and the way to get them)in this server are, which was always an issue I had with NobleStory in general.
P.S: I know barely anything about Thiefs or Pirates so feel free to bring up what's up with them, but again I never heard anyone complaining.

breakfast: Buccaneers are definetely on the list for the classes who need a little boost. Don't expect too many nerfs on this class, if there are going to be any at all. Kimberly: You act like you are something like a goddess on Noble-Story. Your comments make it easy to prove just that arrogant behavior i mentioned before that some players show. You should have listened to what i said to the whole thing instead of starting to flame; then you would have heared what it was really about. Originally, i didn't even think about applying nerfs to any class, and just focus on positive modifications instead. However, the test results have shown me that this is mostly likely impossible to realize; if i did so, some classes would be buffed up by a high multiple of their current state. Not sure why you keep talking about Mages, it's not like they should be the best damage dealers for bosses in my point of view either. Your whole idea of how MMOs generally work - attacking and supporting classes - sounds neat but it not applicable for MapleStory. This game is fast-paced and focuses on a flashy playstyle, killing regular monsters in mere seconds (if not in one shot); therefore, the significant parameter is damage. Not about developing a strategy to form a party with a broad variety of classes with their different skill types, such as supports, recoveries, raw damages, and whatnot. What you need a healer for when you can literally consume hundreds of potions in an instant? The only viable class to support the other party players is the Bishop, with Holy Symbol. If Archmages were meant for that very same purpsoe, i must have played mine wrong. The Hero class for your case does indeed count to the superior ones, however it is not even the best. If you consider your equipment items as the sole reason, you are heavily mistaken. I tested each and every class on the same Level with equivalent equipment items; god-tier yet possible to obtain on Noble-Story (there are even some which overpower my test subjects). I know that the two of us can hardly agree on anything, but this time you seem to comment from a more defensive point of view. I expected more from you as your posts weren't always as unorganized as that.. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Some words to everyone else who has any questions, concerns or whatever to the whole skill modifications thing. This is far away from being realized. Even within the staff team, we have yet to decide whether we are going to do such an update or not, and where we would set our limits. In addition to that, my personal schedule does not allow me to spend as much time on the project as i wish to. In other words, the progress on the Noble-Story Skill-balance is frozen until further notice. You are still free to ask questions about it and inform me about your suggestions and concerns, this is the only way that could make it statisfying for as many players as possible. However, i do encourage you to be a little more in the know of it before you go ahead and badmouth it. Everything without a proper, viable argumentation will not be considered. That is all for now.
